AVG Antivirus Breaks Google’s Chrome Security


If you’re using AVG Web TuneUp extension on Chrome, perhaps now is a good time to remove it. A bug report filed by a Google employee last month shows that the extension is disabling  security for over 9 million Chrome users. This plugin is one of the most popular browser-based solution for internet security but the report shows it does the exact opposite of what it’s supposed to do.

Google Plans On Replacing Your Passwords With Phone Login Request


Google is trying to eliminate the password and make logging in a lot easier. A login procedure should be secure, simple and hassle-free and Google is already trying to make this happen. Rohit Paul, an Android device owner on Reddit, posted yesterday about a new logging procedure Google is presently rolling out on an invite-only basis.

In a confirmation released by a Google spokesperson to Techcrunch:

We’ve invited a small group of users to help test a new way to sign-in to their Google accounts, no password required. ‘Pizza’, ‘password’ and ‘123456’—your days are numbered.

Teen Steals $150,000 USD By Hacking Into Airline’s Website


2015 has been an interesting year with hackers targeting companies and celebrities. From VTech to Donald Trump hotel chain, these security breaches only prove that your data isn’t safe anywhere. As reported by People’s Daily Online, a certain teen has made up to 1.1 Million Yuan (£110,000 or $150,000) by hacking into an airline’s website and stealing customer’s information. Piracy Websites Earns $70M From you Annually Through Malware


Quite a lot of internet users would rather download a paid software for free than buy it from the official site. This gave rise to the popularity of warez and torrent websites where you can easily download digital contents for free. Apart from intrusive ads and other shady ways piracy websites make money, this new report claims that by merely spreading malwares on users computer, these sites make a huge amount of money annually.
